2018 Annual Conference

WAEE is pleased to announce that the 2018 Annual Conference will take place Friday, October 19th thru Saturday, the 20th, in the heart of the real Wisconsin Dells at Upham Woods. This year’s theme is Equity in Environmental Education: #NatureForAll. Tentative tracks include Diversity, Equity & Inclusion, Early Childhood Education, Innovations in the Field, Farm to School, and a special track for Nature Center Administrators.

Call for Presenters Now Open

WAEE seeks compelling proposals that inform environmental educators about proven practices, push the leading edge of the profession, and motivate the pursuit of excellence. Presentation proposals should be submitted under one of the following 2018 strands: 

  • Diversity, Equity & Inclusion
  • Early Childhood Education
  • Innovations in the Field
  • Farm to School
  • Nature Center Administration

Session format options include 45- or 90-minute concurrent sessions, half- and full-day workshops, and fieldtrip. Workshops are tentatively planned for Thursday, October 18th and concurrent sessions will take place on Friday and Saturday. 

To submit a proposal for consideration, please click on the link below to fill out an online submittal. Let us know (admin@waee.org) if you would like a paper version to fill out. 

All presenters and co-presenters are required to register for the conference and pay published conference fees. Fees are not yet finalized but WAEE members can expect to pay around $175. Non-member, one-day, and student rates will also be available.  A 20% discount on presenters’ registration will be offered.

Keynote Speaker Announced: Dudley Edmondson

WAEE is pleased to welcome Dudley Edmondson, who is an established Photographer, Author, Filmmaker, and Presenter as our 2018 Keynote Speaker. 
His photography has been featured in galleries and nearly 100 publications around the world. He is also interested in working with school kids and getting them involved in the outdoors through birding, photography and nature hikes.

He is scheduled to address the WAEE Conference audience and stay for a round table discussion.
